Creating a Classroom Web Page - DNS Staff Training 9/12/11

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with you all on creating a classroom website!  I had fun working with many of you this summer at the RSU1 Summer Tech Institute and enjoyed our conversations about the functions and various formats of classroom web pages.

I hope that you've all had a chance to take a peek at the article that I emailed you "Making the Most of your Class Website" (copyright restrictions prevent me from posting the article here, but I'm happy to resend it if you need it).  I love the way this article highlights the many uses of classroom web pages and the ways that we can make them not just informational, but integral as well.

While our options for website formats are endless, for simplicity's sake we're going to focus on using the RSU1 Google app's Blogger service during these series of sessions.  If for some reason you discover that Blogger is not a good fit for your needs, I'm happy to help you find an alternative.

Before you dive into the construction of your web page, though, take a moment to ponder what elements you'd like to include.  Use the online sticky note wall below to brainstorm your ideas... your colleagues might think of some things that wouldn't occur to you, and vice versa!
